A BUZZZY Bee Baby Shower (June 10, 2011)

BUZZZZZ!

This is the second time I’ve done a classic yellow and black bumblebee-themed baby shower (the first one was for a very good friend of mine to celebrate the coming of my godson, Sully), and this vibrant color combination never disappoints! It says happiness, bubbliness, and flighty fun, and always captures well in photographs.

Detail shots of our dessert table and some of our bee accent elements.

Cookie lollipops printed on edible photographic paper. Cool, huh? :) You can print ANYTHING on them and I’m just so excited at the possibilities of this baking technique. Thanks to Joanna of Cuppy Puppy Bakehouse for doing such a great job on them.

A beehive cake by Olive Chan of All Caked Up.

Complementing prints for the game prizes!

Our table setting — with velvet patterned linens and mustard-colored plates that popped and refreshed the space instantly. The mom-to-be’s Tita provided the floral centerpieces as a gift :)

Yummy sweets to greet baby Travis who’s buzzzing his way into the world soon!

Sex and the City Themed Baby Shower & Bridal Shower (March 20, 2010)

I’m backtracking my posts chronologically since my business officially started last year, so please bear with me :)  I’m pretty OC about updating my business Facebook account, and I know it will take time for me to completely transfer photos from there to here.

Anyway, before I made this passion of mine into a business, I never really did get paid to decorate for my friend’s parties (and back then, I would only be given budgets like P5,000, so I had to really be creative with what could be done with the money!).  I will always credit my friend Florence for telling me to go at it full time. And I remember, it was over dinner for our other friend, Ther’s, bugland-themed baby shower that she said:  “Bambs, I think you should really make this into a business!”

So, there it all began.  Enter Client #1 for a baby shower-slash-bridal shower.

The theme?  SEX AND THE CITY.

Here are some snapshots from that party.

Zebra print linens, mini hats, tall vases with fuchsia pink flowers, and photos of the mom/bride-to-be and her fiance!

Floral arrangements by Michi Calica.

Fuchsia pink & black overload! Martini glass and feathers? Oh, yes!

Beautiful (and not to mention yummy) cupcakes from Florence’s younger sister Olive Chan of All Caked Up.

NOTHING REALLY BEATS THE FIRST TIME.

I’m actually doing the 1st birthday party of this client’s little boy, Tyler this coming May 29!

Isn’t that nice? :) Will post pictures from that party too.
